Why The Iceberg?

Above the Surface

We see the iceberg as a representation of our church. The peak represents our Sunday gathering and the actual church building. It is where we come together to worship God, encourage one another and equip ourselves to go out into the world. This is just a small portion of the actual reach of our church and church body.

Below the Surface

From our service each Sunday we each go into the world to touch the lives of the people around us. This is represented by the underwater, unseen portion of an iceberg. Its the stuff we all do to expand the Kingdom of God that may not, at first glance, be so obviously a part of Southview.

We encourage those we work with, bring food to a sick neighbour, build relationship with those on our soccer team, we practice English with those who are new to the country, we volunteer for charity events, we support the work of missionaries that share our vision, we attempt to make a difference in the lives of those around us.
